Campus Welcomes New EdD Program Director
July 23, 2008
It is with great pleasure that I write to inform the members of our campus community of the appointment of Associate Professor Carlos Nevarez as Director of Sacramento State’s program leading to the Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership. Our Ed.D. program is now entering its second year and will require increased focus and leadership as it moves beyond its initial launch.
Dr. Nevarez, who joined our faculty in 2001 as a member of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, will provide that leadership and help the faculty, staff, and students within the Ed.D. program further determine and maintain that focus. He was chosen from among a field of very able candidates. He holds the Ph.D. from Arizona State University, is multidisciplinary in academic background and orientation, and has considerable experience in research and in graduate programming. He will work closely with the faculties of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and the Department of Public Policy and Administration, interested faculty members from other disciplines, and Deans Vanessa Sheared and Otis Scott in moving our program forward.
Please welcome Dr. Nevarez to his new position of leadership.
Joseph F. Sheley, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
