Better Together: A Partnership of Education, Business and Community

The College of Education has a long history of honoring members of the region's educational, nonprofit, governmental, and business community for their efforts and contributions on behalf of our area's children and families. During these difficult times, honoring those efforts is more important than ever.

As Dean of the College of Education at Sacramento State, I am privileged to request your nomination for educators, school administrators, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, community/government agencies, and individuals that have made significant contributions to local public education for our Better Together – A Partnership of Education, Business & Community Awards. The theme "Better Together" communicates our belief that it takes a total community effort to meet the exceptional challenges facing public education today.

Recognizing and honoring exemplary work is an important act. Please join us in celebrating the work of colleagues and friends. Please nominate one or more individuals, organizations, or groups. Recipients selected for their work in the community will be honored at the College of Education's annual recognition reception on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Alumni Center on the Sacramento State campus.
