Variations in Adolescent Females' Loss of Psychological Voice Based on Their Ethnicity

Statement of the Problem
The purpose of the research was to determine if loss of psychological voice occurs in adolescent females. Additionally, the data was analyzed to determine if there were variations in the loss of psychological voice based on adolescent females' ethnicity.
Sources of Data
The data were recorded using both a written questionnaire and observation. The observations were obtained by an in-classroom observer. Two observations took place over a period of one month at Sarah Jones continuation high school in Sacramento, California.
Conclusions Reached
Based on the research data obtained there were definite variations in adolescent females' loss of psychological voice based on their ethnicity. On average, African American females demonstrated the least loss of psychological voice, Latino and Asian Americans followed with Caucasian American adolescent females demonstrated the greatest loss of psychological voice.
