The Department of Teacher Education is the largest of the six departments in Sacramento State's College of Education.
The Department offers a variety of degree programs to serve pre-service and in-service educators. Housed in the Department are the masters degree programs in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology, Language and Literacy and Behavioral Sciences Gender Equity Studies.
The approximately 48 full-time faculty and more than 70 lecturers are engaged in a wide variety of professional activities-- modeling effective teaching, engaging in research writing and scholarly presentations, services to the community and region, infusing powerful uses of technology into instruction, forming strong partnerships with local school districts etc.
The Department of Teacher Education is currently experiencing growth in both the number of students it serves and in faculty positions.
