Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Specialist Credential Program Options: Level II


A Professional Clear (old Level II) program is not offered on the Sacramento State campus as of Fall 2011.

If you need to complete this CCTC requirement, contact your local district or county BTSA Office for an alternate means of meeting this credential level.

Another option available in which college credits are also earned (and can be applied to an M.A. in Education - Special Education) is through the Sacramento State College of Continuing Education (CCE); information on this opportunity can be located at: http://www.cce.csus.edu/catalog/course_group_detail.asp?group_number=160&group_version=2.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of a valid Preliminary Level I Specialist Credential;

  • A teaching position providing direct instruction to students officially designated as
    receiving special education services in a public school, private school, or equivalent status;

  • CBEST passed;

  • Admittance to Sac State Graduate and Departmental Program; and

  • Approved by Sac State Level II mentor.

Elective [Candidates must also complete one elective course (3-units) with Level II advisor approval. Advisor approved non-IHE course/ workshops may qualify as an elective.] 3

  • EDS 267A/B and EDS 268A/B cannot be taken simultaneously.

  • EDS 252A/B is a pre-/co-requisite to EDS 267A/B and/or EDS 268A/B.
