Special Education Credential Programs
The Special Education Credential Programs are fully accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentials (CCTC) and meets the specified Educational Specialist standards. Application procedures and materials may be obtained by contacting the departmental office or going online.
Preliminary Specialist Credentials/Certificate
Preliminary & Clear Level (as of Fall 2011 admits)- Mild/Moderate Specialist Credential
- Mild/Moderate Specialist Multiple Subject Credential
- Moderate/Severe Specialist Credential
- Moderate/Severe Specialist Multiple Subject Credential
- Early Childhood Special Education Specialist Credential

Professional Clear Specialist Credentials
Professional Clear Level II (pre-Fall 2011 admits)
A Professional Clear (old Level II) program is not offered on the Sacramento State campus as of Fall 2011.
If you need to complete this CCTC requirement, contact your local district or county BTSA Office for an alternate means of meeting this credential level.
