Overview
To obtain the Master of Arts in Higher Education Leadership with a Student Affairs emphasis, a student must complete 30 total units within EDLP coursework. Typically each course offered throughout the program will adhere to a six Wednesday, three Saturday time frame, with students taking one course at a time for approximately a 6-week period. Wednesday classes are scheduled in the evenings, generally from 5:30 P.M. to 8:40 P.M. and the Saturday classes are from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. This schedule is designed to accommodate the needs of students who are full-time working professionals.
The Cohort Model
All students selected for the program will enroll in the same courses in the same sequence. This “cohort” approach facilitates student development of a strong network of colleagues who support each other and encourage completion of the program. Students within a cohort learning environment learn how to work together in teams to solve real world problems or issues and tend to complete the learning experiences on a timely basis because they enroll in the same courses.
