Welcome to the Department of Child Development (CHDV)

The Child Development Department offers students the opportunity to study physical, socio-emotional and cognitive growth and development from conception through adolescence. Our graduates pursue careers in day care and preschool teaching and administration, parent education, elementary school teaching, community college teaching, or work with a variety of counseling and community agencies which serve children and families.

*Child Development Major Advising is done on a drop in basis; no appointments necessary

Important Dates and Deadlines: SPRING 2012

  • January 23: Spring Instruction begins
  • February 10: Continuous Enrollment (Graduate) for Spring 2012 due (last day to submit 3/31/12)
  • March 1: Supplimental application due to department for CHDV MA program for Fall 2012
  • March 13: Graduate Thesis/Project Petitions due to CHDV department
  • April1: Thesis/Projects due to CHDV department for approval
