Program Benefits

The Bilingual/Multicultural Education Department offers a Master of Arts degree in Education. Our program is open to ALL prospective students who articulate a commitment towards working with culturally and linguistically diverse students in educational and community settings.

  • In-depth study of multicultural education and its application

  • Faculty committed to furthering the goals of multicultural education through scholarship and social action

  • Program length: 3 semesters of intensive course work

  • Schedule of courses designed with working professionals in mind (e.g., one or two evenings per week, occasional Saturday classes, on-line assignments, and early-start semesters)

  • Three options for the MA culminating project: thesis, project, or comprehensive exam

  • Applications also encouraged from recently-credentialed teachers interested in researching their own practice

  • Impressive cost-effectiveness relative to local private universities
