Financial Aid

You may be surprised to learn that any financial aid you qualify for on your home campus (except work study) can be applied to your year with the CSU Mexico BCLAD Program. You should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1. The application is available on line: www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Other sources of financial aid include:

  • $7,500 stipend available to all participants in the 2010-11 CSU Mexico BCLAD Program from a federal grant entitled the California Bi-National Teacher Education Program (Bi-TEP), located at CSU Sacramento.

  • The APLE forgivable loan program that forgives $11,000 of your undergraduate or graduate loans in exchange for your commitment to teach 4 years in a low income school or school with high number of English Learners. Teacher credential offices at your closest CSU campus have information on the APLE forgivable loan program.
