For most people, the term “summer school” evokes images of bored students taking drivers education or making up a course they failed during the regular school year.
But Sacramento State’s Academic Talent Search gives elementary, middle and high school students a chance to try something unique, leap frog regular school courses or tackle a particularly interesting challenge, all while having fun in a university setting. Read more

Talent Search Spotlights Bright Kids (2001)
A new class on germs and a Japanese language class that was jam-packed due to the popularity of Japanese animation highlighted the 20th summer of Academic Talent Search at Sac State.
It was bigger than ever this year, with an enrollment of almost 1,700 and more than 100 classes. That’s compared to the 106 students who could choose among three classes in 1982, the program’s first year. Read more
